NEES Mentioned in Three Articles in EFRC Newsletter

NEES research was recently profiled in three separate articles in the DOE’s Frontiers in Energy Research newsletter, a quarterly publication that showcases the highlights of research being done in the Energy Frontier Research Centers.

Scientific Playgrounds Accelerating Clean Energy Research” is a feature article about NEES’ development of a technique to measure electron diffraction patterns of nanoscale electrode materials as they react.

The Travelling Scientist” interviews NEES’ Zoey Warecki about what she has learned from traveling for learning and networking opportunities. Warecki was visiting researcher for one month at Sandia National Laboratories, solely funded by the NEES 2016 Collaboration Travel Grant Award.

The Thorny Problem of Lithium Batteries” is a research article covering a recent paper by NEES PI Liangbing Hu on his group’s recent work on how coating carbon nanotubes with a protective aluminum oxide layer as a stable lithium metal host effectively inhibits 'thorny' dendritic growth.
